What an intense, highly charged and watery New Moon we have!   This is the Cancer New Moon and it is at 3:14am EDT (NY) time on 8 July.   There is a strong theme of cleansing and releasing with this water sign New Moon.   This is the FIRST New Moon of the 2nd half of 2013.  So set some BIG intentions!

The New Moon is commonly referred to as the "dark of the Moon" and is an opportunity for us to set our intentions for the next month and also an opportunity for looking within.  A New Moon is a time when we can see how we are being, how our energy is flowing and feeling within our lives.  During the darkness of the New Moon when the outer light is quiet, we are guided to turn our attention to our inner Light for self reflection. 
 
The New Moon in Cancer is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Crab. These include honoring our deepest, most irrational and intimate, feelings; recognizing the sense of security and safety; allowing ourselves to accept support and offering support to others; and starting a project aimed at improving our domestic lives. With this potent Cancer energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives that will benefit us well beyond this Moon cycle.

Cancer also is ruled by the Moon. The light of the moon reflects our emotions and influences the water within our bodies. Learning to work with the lunar cycles is a powerful way to manifest your goals.

This month's New Moon aligns with retrograde Mercury, squares Uranus, and opposes Pluto, suggesting the need to let go of attitudes and circumstances that are preventing us from starting anew.
 
We are continuing in Mercury Retrograde which also signals a time for self reflection and turning our attention inward.  Mercury Retrograde can be a period of great success!  So why not include in your New Moon intentions and wishes a smooth, uneventful and insightful retrograde for yourself?  Let's add in some success too!  You can create whatever you want!
 
As you know, a New Moon is when we set our intentions powerfully by writing an Abundance check.  Writing an Abundance check on the New Moon is a time honored tradition to bring on Abundance and Good Fortune!   **This New Moon is the first Moon of the 2nd Half of 2013 - so set your intentions accordingly.** 

The most potent time to write an Abundance Check is the first 8 hours AFTER the exact time of the New Moon; within the first 48 hours will still work.
 
Since we do not want to write our Abundance Check when the Moon is Void of Course - it really makes a big difference -   the most powerful times  for writing our Abundance Checks and declaring our intentions for this New Moon are below:  ALL TIMES below ARE U.S. EDT (NY) time  (or GMT -4)

    (Moon goes Void of Course again on 11 July at 3:54pm, however write checks BEFORE the 11th since it is beyond 48 hours after the New Moon.)
When we are past the 48 hour window it will be less potent.

** HOW TO write your Abundance Check**    
  ►Within 24-48 hours of the New Moon (see best times above), take a check out. Where it says Pay to," write your name.   
  ►In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar amount write "Paid in full."
  ►On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a dollar amount, write "Paid in full." [I find it works better if you don't add the squiggly line.]
  ►Sign the check: "The Law of Abundance"
  • Do not put a date on the check.
  • Do not write a specific dollar amount in the check.
  • It's perfectly ok to draw a check on a piece of paper if you don't have one.  It works the same!
  • I have provided two special checks that can be used if you do not have one (links above)
   ► Put it in a safe place and forget about it.  Just hide it away and let it be. Then relax and welcome in the abundance!
