Is Anyone Familiar with what a Bitcoin Hard Fork to BTC and BTU would mean?

Hi ,

This is an unusual email!  I would not have sent if it weren't for strong Source nudges to do so. 

Source tells me there are some cryptocurrency wise people in my community!  Source has nudged me to reach out and see if someone has some understanding about the 'potential' Bitcoin Hard Fork between BTC and BTU.

I'm a bit confused!  I've been researching and reading and reading and reading, and have gained some understanding about the Hard Fork, but am not really clear what it means for Bitcoin.  Nor am I sure what the best way to deal with the Fork is?  I see many people jumping over into altcoins like Ethereum.  Is that wise?
